Elisa Spiropali has reacted after being dismissed from her position as Foreign Minister. In a long post on Facebook, Spiropali does not hide her disappointment at the surprise of her dismissal, which came on the same day as the suspension of Belinda Balluku. Given that there have been rumors of rivalry within the party with the latter, there are suspicions that Spiropali has been her "victim". For this, the former Foreign Minister does not spare her colleague several messages in reaction, when she says that the dismissal from her position is a withdrawal for her, while the commitment will continue, implying that Balluku will end up in prison.
"Albania is more important than any role and the Party is more important than any individual, but personal dignity remains the foundation on which every honest and sustainable public service is built. In this sense, for me, the completion of a task is not a retreat, but a continuation of engagement with the same conviction and the same responsibility," writes Spiropali.
She further makes a comparison that politics is a "territory where time moves quickly, but memory moves slowly" and that what matters is not the position held, but the way it is exercised and the weight of the attitudes and words given. Spiropali does not forget to mention dignity, saying that it is not a ceremonial decoration, but stability in the face of time and the ability to not be afraid of either the past or the future.
Although the man she called "Skënderbe" fired her before she even returned from her visit abroad, she does not forget to thank Rama for the trust he has given her over the years. But she reminds the prime minister not to take his gratitude as personal submission, but as political culture.
We recall that Prime Minister Edi Rama has appointed the former Albanian ambassador to the UN, Ferit Hoxha, to the post of Minister of Foreign Affairs.
