The Supreme Court is reviewing today Ilir Meta's appeal through which he requests the repeal of the security measure "prison arrest". This review comes at a time when the Supreme Court has taken the initiative to reform, through a unifying decision, the procedure for assigning the security measure "prison arrest".
At the same time, the Special Court will consider the former president's next request for a replacement security measure at noon.
Ilir Meta has been in custody since October 2024. He is currently being tried in a preliminary hearing for corruption, money laundering, and concealment of assets.
