In today's press conference, Sali Berisha – in addition to his daily antics – also spoke about the Balluku case, or more precisely, the complaint that Prime Minister Edi Rama has filed with the Constitutional Court. He stated that: "The first act, in my opinion, that the Court should have taken is to refuse to review the request, because that decision is in full legal compliance with the legal framework of the Republic of Albania."
This is a 180-degree change from the line he has held so far. According to him, SPAK's decision to suspend Balluk was a scenario of Edi Rama against Balluk (because SPAK is a toy in Edi Rama's hands, then). Of course, no one is surprised by Berisha, who is now the clearest expression of political incoherence, in words and actions. But even this "friendly advice" of Berisha to the GJK seems not to be a break from his old habit: to wear politics and those issues are clean and clear legally. And this would actually be an indirect help to Edi Rama.
Sali Berisha has long made it clear publicly what his consideration for the Constitutional Court is. Ever since his first requests, in the fight with SPAK, about a year ago, were rejected by that court, he has labeled the Constitutional Court as a “toy in the hands of Edi Rama” (as he has said about SPAK until now). The only positive consideration for the Constitutional Court has been that towards member Sonila Bejtja. About a month ago, when he was attacking the President of the Republic Begaj, he found the time to express the highest consideration for her: “Now the truth is that Mrs. Bejtja has had the courage, the courage, to accept to remain in the minority repeatedly in that court for the truth. So, she has honored the law, she has proven her integrity.” Berisha said, extolling the integrity of Mrs. Bejtja, who in fact belongs to the trio of constitutional judges who have been chosen to consider Prime Minister Edi Rama’s request for the Balluku case.
In this context, it would be appropriate for Sali Berisha to address this suggestion for rejecting the Prime Minister's request only to Ms. Bejtja, as a member of this court, the only one he values for integrity.
Moreover, this member whose term in the Constitutional Court has officially ended already has the luxury of listening to Berisha's advice without worrying about what she will do next in this court. A few weeks ago she decided to run for the position of Commissioner for Discrimination. Her name was even shortlisted for approval in the Laws Commission. But a "bird" informed Ms. Bejtja that the court could have an important case and the "Eye" of developments did not miss the opportunity to seize a greater chance. This of judging the claim of Prime Minister Edi Rama. Where the lottery has favored Sali Berisha's favorite judge who has probably been waiting for this opportunity to be between the praises of the opposition leader and the golden opportunity of the government leader. This time, of course, she will not be satisfied with a chair like that of Commissioner for Discrimination. The offer will definitely be something higher than that.
Meanwhile, the case in the Constitutional Court still does not have a date when it will be reviewed, while Sandër Beçi, Sonila Bejtja and Holta Zaçaj have been drawn as the trio that will decide whether the case will go to trial or not. While Zaçaj has finally left and is expected to be replaced, it is not yet known who will take her place and when the case will be reviewed.
