Benet Beci has found a completely banal reason to move the memorial to the place where the bust of Enver Hoxha used to be located in Shkodra. The denunciation was made by Sokol Drrasati, one of the anti-communist Shkodra residents and organizers of the blowing up of the dictator's bust.
According to Drrasati, Beci's justification is related to the request of the "December 13" association, which proposed that the memorial in honor of that date be placed "somewhere else." But someone should explain to Mr. Beci that the memorial has meaning only in the place where the event took place. Its relocation leads to the complete loss of historical significance, not only for that important day in the history of the city, but also for the memory of the infamous communist era in Albania.
Moving the memorial means moving history. And this is not a matter of "proposals", but of respect for the truth and memory of Shkodra.
