In an interview with Nisida Tufa for News24, Socialist MP Erion Braçe openly admitted that his relationship with Prime Minister Edi Rama is not good at all. Braçe chose to publicly express his dissatisfaction, admitting that they have “not spoken” for a long time — a communication pause that he says serves as a time for “reflection.”
In the interview, Tufa asked him directly about the history of his relationship with Rama, and Braçe did not avoid it.
Erion Braçe: "No, we're not talking now. I think there should always be a pause for everyone to reflect on this relationship, which is political, work and human relations in the end, I have my beliefs and I don't want the boundaries that I set to be violated. I am inclined towards a balance, but when I am right, I am right and I don't negotiate my right with anyone.
"If I said publicly that we should wait for the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the dismissal of Mr. Veliaj or the announcement of elections in Tirana, with this Constitutional Court decision it turns out that I was right. But with everything that is following as a discourse, I did not speak after the Constitutional Court's decision."
Brace's statement comes precisely at the moment when the Constitutional Court's decision on the Tirana issue has put the prime minister in a difficult position, while Brace seems to want to underline that he "had warned" of this scenario.
Regarding the freeze in communication with Rama, he implied that the situation could change, but "after a few months."
