The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in his daily statement to the media, recently commented on the accusations of former US President Donald Trump against George Soros and his son, Alexander Soros. According to Berisha, these accusations constitute a "historic act" and are directly related to developments in Albania, where he accuses Prime Minister Edi Rama of collaborating with the Soros family in building what he calls a "monist drug empire."
"In a historic act, the US president, based on the RICO law, yesterday accused George Soros and his son, Alexis Soros, of a criminal organization that has exercised intensive activity against the order and security of the US. They used their political and monetary power against democracy in Albania, in support of the criminal organization led by Edi Rama. In Tirana, with their financing and lobbying, they helped transform the democratic order and the Constitution," Berisha declared.
Along these lines, he also brought to attention the request that George Soros be declared "non grata" in Albania, describing his influence as harmful to democracy and political pluralism in the country.
However, Berisha continues to evade questions about his status as "non grata" in the US. Even though almost a year has passed since the change of administration in Washington, there have been no new developments or signals for reconsideration of the decision against him.
So far, it is known that the lobbying company he contracted, although it asked for 6 million dollars, did not offer a guarantee for the removal of the "non-women". While Berisha himself refuses to provide details or confirm the progress of this process, despite the constant interest of journalists.
The same approach was followed in the case of the contract with the American strategist La Civita for the May 11 campaign, for which no official publication of the contract has been made, and the information remains vague.
The withholding of data and lack of transparency raise suspicions that the expenses incurred for lobbying may be more part of a propaganda strategy than a real effort to resolve his legal situation.
