The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has leveled accusations against the way markets function in the country, stating that oligopolies are harming competition and citizens through collusion and price abuse, but without mentioning specific names.
"Oligopoly is an intermediate form between competition and monopoly, but in Albania it is turning into an anti-civic activity," Berisha said from the DP parliamentary group meeting.
The chief democrat cited the hydrocarbon, meat, and sugar markets as examples, and directly accused the government of favoring oligopolies, while citizens face high prices and a lack of protection.
However, in his entire denunciation, Berisha did not mention any names of the companies that, according to him, are favored by the government. This is not the first time that the leader of the DP uses this method of denunciation, which speaks of the problem, but without specific names of those responsible. He even accused his "former subordinate" Lulzim Basha of this before, when making denunciations.
This practice usually occurs when you are forced to appear as an opposition member to denounce the injustices of the state, but you are worried that in that issue there are also business friends who do not want their image to be ruined. Is the situation the same with Berisha, or is the leader of the democrats denouncing without being properly informed?
