Edi Rama has chosen, perhaps not very coincidentally, to appear today in a meeting with cameras in Unit No. 7 of Tirana, alongside Ogerta Manastirliu, the leader of this unit. After the public announcement of Erion Braçe's ambition to be a SP candidate in the upcoming local elections in the capital, this appearance by the prime minister seems like a measured reaction to the recent developments within the socialists.
At the SP Assembly in Unit 7, Prime Minister Edi Rama, together with Ogerta Manastirliu, focused on the 2027 local elections.
In his speech, Rama expressed his conviction that the Socialist Party will be declared the winner, emphasizing that preparations have begun earlier than other parties.
"I believe you are informed that we have launched a comprehensive process that extends throughout the territory of Albania to do two things at once, since on the one hand we have elections in socialist organizations and on the other hand it is appropriate to conduct a process of dialogue primarily within ourselves.
We are just in time to start sowing the results that we will reap in the next local elections that will be held in 14-15 months. I am convinced that we will be winners, for another reason, which is the reason that brings us together today. We start preparations long before others. When others deal with us, we deal with ourselves.
"I want to start this conversation with you from Tirana, but we will not stop here. In this process, it is very important to talk about a number of things that are taken for granted," said Rama.
However, the moment of this meeting does not go unnoticed. Rama's appearance to speak at length about Tirana comes precisely after Erion Braçe has publicly expressed his ambition to be the SP candidate for Mayor of the capital.
