The Head of the Special Prosecution Office, Altin Dumani, during an event organized by the High Inspectorate of Justice, stated that the institution he leads faces a series of ongoing challenges.
He emphasized that among the main problems are the lack of staff and insufficient infrastructure, as well as the procedural overload that prosecutors face.
Dumani also referred to political and media pressures, underlining the important role of ethical codes in preserving the independence of prosecutors:
“Ethical codes are protective walls against any form of political or media pressure,” he said.
Regarding the functioning of the case management system, Dumani announced that it is active, but not yet at full capacity.
“We hope that by the end of the year it will function at 110% of capacity,” he added.
Finally, the head of SPAK emphasized that in addition to concrete results, the institution must also show prudence, ethics and integrity in implementing the law, in order to fulfill its mission in the fight against corruption and organized crime.
