On the show "Opinion", the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that the DP will participate in the early elections for the Municipality of Tirana, although he emphasized that "with Edi Rama there are no free elections."
"With Edi Rama there are no elections, but we are not boycotting them. We will enter the elections", - said Berisha. He also responded to the proposal of the chairman of the "Mundësia" party to put forward a joint opposition candidate. "We will do everything to cooperate with all opposition parties. I believe that we can achieve a consensual candidate. The name of the candidate can be outside one party or the other, it is not impossible", - stressed Berisha.
The leader of the DP also mentioned the name of Ilir Alimehmeti, saying that he "fulfills all the conditions to run for mayor of Tirana."
"If a consensus figure of the entire opposition is found, it would be even better," Berisha concluded.
In this way, the DP confirms its participation in the race for the Municipality of Tirana, leaving open the possibility of a joint opposition candidate.
