Prime Minister Edi Rama today focused his speech in Parliament on the “AI 4” project and the newest member of the cabinet, Diella, whom he described as crucial for accelerating Albania’s EU accession process and positioning the country as a technology hub. Rama said that Diella will have official status and that the “AI 4” accelerator will bring together Albanian talents from within and outside the country, as well as foreign experts.
The session was accompanied by tensions, as the opposition protested against giving the floor to Diella, causing noise in the hall. Minister Niko Peleshi and Rama himself intervened in the debate, while MP Klevis Balliu was stripped of his right to speak for the entire day, after repeatedly violating the rules of procedure.
After a 5-minute break, the opposition continued the protest again, blocking the floor. This led the Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi, to directly vote on the government program, closing the session without the scheduled debates.
