The normative act on budget changes also became a cause for debate within the ranks of the Socialist Party in today's session of the Parliament. MP Erion Braçe stated that his proposals for transferring a portion of unspent funds to farmers, which had been rejected a few weeks ago, were presented again through the normative act.
Ironically, Braçe asked the chairman of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, whether this time there should be a vote for or against, emphasizing that his proposal was identical to the one previously rejected.
For his part, Balla stressed that normative acts are either approved or rejected, without changes, referring to Braçe's request for compensation for farmers and agriculturists for flood damage. Braçe clarified that he had not requested a change, but only information on the voting method.
"I did not request a change to the normative act. I only said that the amendment rejected four weeks ago has been brought forward today with a normative act. My question was how should I vote: for or against," said Braçe.
The socialist MP also criticized the funds that go to the Albanian Olympic Committee, emphasizing that this institution does not produce concrete results. Braçe did not spare the irony, emphasizing that football as the most massive sport in Albania is giving up, while the majority continues to support sports that are almost unknown such as padel or ping-pong.
"Now 2.2 million euros for participation fees in activities, I'm sorry, but it's a lot of money. Also, the funds that go to the Olympic Committee should start producing results. If we want to support sports, let's support mass sports, like football, and not padel or ping pong," declared Brace.
