A group of activists have announced that they will hold a protest today, at 5:30 PM, in front of the Prime Minister's Office, in opposition to Prime Minister Edi Rama's meeting in Israel with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"Today at 5:30 PM we will organize a rally in front of the Prime Minister's Office," reads the poster distributed by the protest organizers.
With the slogan "Not in my name", the protest comes in response to Rama's statements, who has stated that with his stance he represents Albanians. Activists dispute this claim, emphasizing that it does not reflect the sensitivity of Albanian citizens, who, according to them, are shocked by the massacres taking place in Gaza.
They recall that even after the last ceasefire, over 100 children have been killed, according to UNICEF data, a figure that, according to protesters, shows that violence against civilians has not stopped.
Their statement also emphasizes that, at a time when most European leaders avoid symbolic visits to Israel due to the humanitarian situation in Gaza, the Albanian Prime Minister has chosen to be part of a political scene that, according to them, ignores the suffering of Palestinian civilians.
