Tirana police seize a large arsenal of weapons. Highly confidential sources say the weapons were found in a van marked "road maintenance". Sources indicate that snipers, pistols, and quantities of dynamite were seized. One person has ended up in handcuffs.

The Serious Crimes Sector, in cooperation with Police Station No. 2, is finalizing the police operation codenamed "The van".
A base is discovered where an arsenal of suspected trafficked weapons was hidden.
23 firearms (5 of them with sniper rifles), 1 silencer, 17 magazines with combat ammunition, cell phones and remote detonation devices, wave jamming equipment, police uniforms, and other illegal items were seized.
The 34-year-old man suspected of possessing them was arrested.
Two other citizens involved in this criminal activity have been identified and are wanted.
As a result of the rapid administration of information obtained in operational channels, regarding a citizen who possessed an arsenal of weapons, the Serious Crimes Sector, in cooperation with Police Commissariat No. 2, today, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, has developed the operation codenamed "The van". As part of this operation:
- citizen ES, 34 years old, resident of Tirana, was arrested and 2 citizens were declared wanted, whose generalities are not disclosed due to the investigation.
During the operation, on “Myslym Shyri” street, during the search in the van of citizen ES, the following were found:
-12 pistol firearms of the brands “Beretta”, “Glock”, “Rex Delta”, “Ruger-57” and “Tanfoglio”;
-6 automatic firearms;
-5 long-barreled firearms (with optical sights, similar to snipers);
-1 silencer;
-17 combs for various firearms;
-various firearm parts;
-15,000 cartridges;
-17 boxes of handcuffs similar to those used by the Police;
-12 mobile phones and devices used for remote explosions;
-electronic tracking devices (GPS);
-wave jamming devices;
-banknote counting devices;
-3 sets of uniforms similar to those of the Police.
Work continues to arrest the 2 wanted citizens, identify and arrest other citizens who may be involved in this criminal activity, as well as to clarify the purpose of keeping the arsenal of weapons and equipment seized.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecution Office, for further action, for the criminal offenses of "Trafficking in weapons and ammunition" and "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition".
