After more than a decade, the Appeals Prosecution has announced the indictment of two doctors accused of the death of Doriana Haka, the wife of former Partizan goalkeeper Alban Hoxha. Haka lost her life in November 2014, two weeks after the birth of her first child.
According to the request of the Prosecution, gynecologist Petrit Rexhepi should be sentenced to 9 months in prison, but due to his age over 70, the sentence should be suspended and he should be placed on probation for 18 months. The prosecution also requests the suspension of his license for 5 years, during which he will not be allowed to practice medicine.
Meanwhile, for resuscitator Elona Burba, the Prosecution has requested 1 year in prison, as well as the suspension of her license for 5 years.
The next hearing is expected to be held on November 10, where both doctors will have the opportunity to present their defense arguments before the panel.
