Former President Ilir Meta has reacted to reports of new evidence from America following the completion of the investigations.
He denies that any letter of request has arrived to prove any legal violation on his part and considers the news a hoax, which according to him aims to justify his detention and favor the government's "guarantors of impunity."
Meta emphasizes that this is a lie spread to undermine the opposition and political pluralism in the country.

Out of respect for the members and supporters of the Freedom Party, but also for all Albanian citizens, I want to express my public contempt for the alleged new evidence that has come from "America" after the completion of the investigations.
This lie spread by SPAK and the prosecutors proven to be lawbreakers and suicide bombers of the Chief Kleptocrat, Edi Rama, is a deception to justify my illegal and criminal detention, as well as to grant lifelong mandates to suicide bombers who have been proven to be guarantors of Edi Rama's impunity and sworn enemies of the opposition and political pluralism.
I express my full conviction that no letter of request has ever arrived and cannot arrive proving the violation of Albanian, American or international laws by Ilir Meta or my knowledge of such violations committed by other people in Albania, the USA or anywhere else.
