The preliminary hearing for the president of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, and his ex-wife, Monika Kryemadhi, scheduled to be held today, has been postponed.
The reason for the postponement of the session was the absence of Kryemadhi's defense lawyer, while sources from the court indicate that SPAK has presented new evidence against the Meta-Kryemadhi couple.
According to the Special Prosecution Office, corruption schemes and abuse of power were discovered during the investigations, while in addition to Meta and Kryemadhi, three other people involved in the case have been sent to trial.
After the end of the hearing, Monika Kryemadhi issued a statement to the media, reacting to the latest investigative developments.
"This means that the investigation is not over, but is still ongoing, and we are in a preliminary investigation. The reason for this action is to keep Mr. Meta in prison and our family members under pressure, as part of a personal grudge that I do not know in whose name it is being done."
