The former Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior, Plarent Ndreca, is the only one of the 15 defendants in the case of abuse of tenders for the supervision of four police stations who has not opted for a summary trial.
Through his lawyer, the former socialist MP has requested to be tried under ordinary procedure, transferring the case to the Tirana Criminal Court, after losing the status of a special subject.
This Monday's court hearing was postponed for procedural reasons, while the case has been moved to trial on the merits.
Plarent Ndreca is accused by SPAK of the criminal offense of “violation of equality in public tenders or auctions.” The tender procedures were carried out during the time when the Ministry of Interior was headed by Sandër Lleshaj.
