A serious incident has shaken the city of Berat this Tuesday, where a debate over a photo with a horse has ended in murder.
According to preliminary information, the victim Keli Hoxha, from Tirana, was with his mother, wife and two children near the Berat castle. He had taken photos of the children with a horse, but had not paid the money demanded by the owner.
After a heated argument, the horse's owner, Kristo Mema, also known as Kastriot Hoxha, 63, stabbed the tourist in front of his family, causing serious injuries that took his life.
The perpetrator of the incident has been arrested by the police, and it turns out he had a criminal record in the neighboring country, Greece.
