New evidence is emerging regarding the serious incident that occurred two days ago in the courtroom at the Court of Appeals, where Judge Astrit Kalaja was killed in the line of duty.
Ervis Kurtaj, one of the injured and a key witness to this murder, has recounted the dramatic moments of the event. He was in the courtroom with his father, Rakip Kurtaj, also injured, as a party to a legal process involving them against the Shkambi family.
According to his testimony, everything happened immediately after the judge announced the decision in their favor. “At that moment, Elvis got up from his seat and approached the judge, shooting him several times with a gun,” Kurtaj said.
He added that the moment he heard the shots, he grabbed his father by the hand and they tried to run away towards the hallway. “As we were walking through the hall door, Elvis turned and shot at us,” he said.
Both father and son were injured and were immediately transported to the Trauma Hospital, where they received the necessary medical attention. Fortunately, their health condition is now out of danger.
