New details have been revealed about Artur Tushi, the Albanian man who was executed by a hitman near his home in Medellin, Colombia. The 44-year-old was shot 11 times, killing him instantly, while the perpetrator, a 35-year-old Venezuelan, was arrested 19 kilometers from the scene.
Colombian police announced that Tushi's killer was paid in dollars, raising suspicions that the crime may be linked to international criminal clashes in the city.
Artur Tushi, known in Albania by the nickname “Qoti”, was originally from the village of Raboshtë in Lezha. In 2017, while living and working in Italy, he was kidnapped in the area between Fushë-Milot and the villages near the Milot-Burrel national road, while traveling in his car, which was later abandoned at the scene.
According to Albanian Police, several people stopped Tushi's vehicle, put a bag over his head and took him hostage in an apartment. During the kidnapping, they stole 200,000 lek from the Albanian. Investigations revealed that Tushi had no criminal record in either Albania or Italy.
However, it is suspected that this incident was related to illegal activities in which he was involved abroad.
After initial investigations by Colombian authorities through Interpol, several criminal records were discovered in Tushi's name in various countries, including Ecuador and Spain, which were investigating him. These records include offenses such as physical violence and drug possession.
Tushi's murder has shocked public opinion and brought attention back to international drug trafficking networks in Latin America. It is suspected that he may have been a drug trafficker with connections in Europe.
