A day after the murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja, the Director General of the State Police, Ilir Proda, was at the Court of Appeals.
At the exit, he was approached with a microphone to give a statement about the event and his presence there, but Proda did not give any comment or explanation.
With hurried steps, the Director General of the State Police had only silence in the place where security and the police he leads failed.
We recall that this morning the Supreme Court of Justice denied the statement of the Minister of Interior, Albana Koçiu, who said yesterday that "the State Police Forces have no responsibility for controlling entry and exit and security within court buildings."
In its response, the Supreme Court of Justice states that in all courts of the Republic of Albania, the State Police currently provides its service with only one employee at the main entrance where parties and the public move. The Supreme Court also said that it has repeatedly requested an increase in police forces in courtrooms, but the request has been rejected.
