The Korça Court has eased the security measures for Denis Meçe and Leonidha Guçe, suspects in the murder of Eglantin Proga in Pogradec. From “prison arrest”, the two were sent to “house arrest”, after their pre-trial detention terms were deemed to have expired — the young men had been held in cells for 15 months.
The Korça Prosecutor's Office has completed the investigation and submitted the file for trial, charging only Denis Meçen with the murder, while it has filed other charges against Guçen. However, due to the conflicting statements between the parties, the Prosecutor's Office requested assistance in Italy to analyze the security camera footage. The response to the letter of request has not yet arrived, which led the court to decide to ease the security measure for Meçen and Guçen.
