Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, who has been indicted by SPAK on 13 criminal charges, is seeking to be equipped with a laptop computer in prison in order to read the files in his file.
He submitted the request at a preliminary hearing through his lawyers, as he claims that in the conditions he is in, he cannot familiarize himself with the file.
Erion Veliaj, his wife and 28 other defendants are accused of serious criminal offenses. He was dismissed from office, but the Constitutional Court reinstated him after finding the municipal council's decision unconstitutional.
