The police have today uncovered the explosive device that was set off a day earlier at a business for extortion in Kamëz. One of the people arrested in connection with the TNT explosion in Kamëz is former operations officer Jeton Lami. He was previously charged with abuse of office, as he was suspected of having accompanied Ervis Martinaj before his disappearance.
It is reported that the targeted group, which is suspected of placing the explosives in the business in Kamëz the day before, has previously been involved in extortion cases.
Also, the two brothers-in-law who were targeted with TNT are suspected of being part of this criminal group.
Sources add that there may have been a clash between members of the group, and the explosion in their business may have been a form of extortion, worth around 500 thousand euros.
As part of the operation codenamed "Motivi", in addition to Jeton Lami, Florin Domi and Flogert Mezhika were also arrested.
The police explain that from the investigations it is suspected that these citizens have thrown explosives at the external facade of the business, causing material damage, due to the failure to pay an amount of 500,000 euros, demanded as a fine against the owner of the facility, citizen SS.
