Durrës Police have arrested over 10 people in connection with the serious murder that occurred on Wednesday evening, September 24, in neighborhood no. 12 of the city, where Valbon Beqiraj, also known as Marko Beqiraj, 51 years old, was found stabbed to death in his apartment.
According to sources from the investigation, among those escorted is suspected to be the perpetrator of the incident, who is not a relative of the victim. Preliminary investigations exclude the possibility of a family conflict as the cause of the crime. It is suspected that before the incident there was a verbal argument between the victim and the suspected perpetrator.
The incident occurred in the victim's apartment, which is located on the fourth floor of a building in neighborhood no. 12. The victim lived there with his wife and son, while working as a waiter in the city.
According to the testimonies, the victim's wife tried to contact him by phone several times during the day, but without success. Later, it was his nephew who went to the apartment and found Beqiraj without signs of life, around 7:30 PM.
Investigative teams have seized security camera footage and collected evidence from the scene, including fingerprints.
Durrës Police declares:
"In-depth investigative actions continue to unravel the murder that occurred yesterday evening, in neighborhood no. 12, Durrës. On 24.09.2025, at around 19:30, the Police services received a notification that citizen VB, alias MB, about 51 years old, was found without signs of life in the apartment."
