A Ferrari-type vehicle, worth around 600,000 euros, has been seized by Albanian authorities, following suspicions that it was used to profit from the criminal activity of drug trafficking.
The vehicle was stopped during an operation carried out by specialists from the Money and Asset Laundering Investigation Section, in cooperation with the "Eagle" Special Force, on "Abdyl Frashëri" Street in Tirana.
The driver of the vehicle, citizen EV, 33 years old, who has a previous conviction in Turkey for drug trafficking, is suspected of using this vehicle as part of his criminal activity. Investigations also revealed that the vehicle was registered in the name of S. Ll., a 36-year-old, to avoid police traces. The vehicle was brought to Albania by another person, AL, also 33 years old, on behalf of EV.
As part of the investigation, two other individuals involved have also been placed under investigation, while criminal proceedings have been initiated against all three individuals. Investigations are also ongoing to identify and seize other suspected assets derived from EV's criminal activities in Turkey.
The procedural materials have been sent to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.
