The Special Prosecution Office extends the investigation deadlines for former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, in connection with the incinerators affair, by another 3 months. The extension is due to the delay in the arrival of responses to the letters of inquiry that SPAK has sent abroad. The deadline for completing the investigations is set for December 23.
Arben Ahmetaj is suspected of the criminal offense of corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets. He has been on the run for two years and has sought political asylum in Switzerland. His cohabitant, Erjola Hoxha, and his ex-wife, Albina Mançka, are also under investigation.
