Shocking details have come to light from the mafia attack that took place on September 8 at the "Idromeno" bar in Shkodra, where two people lost their lives and two others were injured. The show "Në Shënjestër" has published parts of the investigative file that sheds light on the role of Ragip Gilë, a well-known figure in the criminal world in Shkodra, who was released from prison just a few months ago.
Authorities began searching for the perpetrator immediately after the attack, when a black 'Dayang' motorcycle, without license plates and with the chassis number erased, was found near the scene. Within a few hours, police forces identified Ragip Gila as the main suspect. He was located near the banks of the Kir River, in the area of former warehouses, where he had been hiding in dense vegetation after injuring his leg during the escape.
A pair of Nike sneakers, a plastic bottle of fuel and two firearms – an automatic rifle and a pistol – were found in his bag. An abandoned BMW was also found at the scene of his arrest.
Ragip Gila, 26, was arrested at the end of 2023 as part of the "False Image" operation, where weapons, ammunition and narcotics were seized from his apartment. He was initially sentenced to 5 years in prison, but his sentence was reduced to 1/3 and then converted to probation, being released on March 4, 2025, based on Article 59 of the Criminal Code.
But environmental wiretaps conducted at the Shkodra Police Station reveal another dark side of Gila. During a conversation with his brother, he expresses open threats and a clear awareness of criminal activity:
Ragip Gila: "When you go out, take care of the children, don't take them to school. They won't leave you, you stay calm. It's none of your business!"
This shocking statement reflects not only the brutality of the perpetrator, but also the danger he posed to the community, despite the decision to release him on bail.
Gila's release and his return to the scene of crime have raised serious concerns about judicial decisions and the implementation of alternative measures for dangerous convicts. The case has once again brought to light the failures of the justice system to prevent individuals with dangerous criminal records from returning to crime.
Investigations into the incident continue, while the city of Shkodra still remains in shock from this serious event, which brought back fear and uncertainty to its streets.
