The Criminal Court of Kosovo has sentenced Emiljan Burba, known as Aldo Bare's friend, to 12 years in prison after being accused of drug trafficking within a structured criminal group.
Emiljan Burba was found guilty of the criminal offenses of "Trafficking in narcotics" committed in the special form of cooperation, that of a structured criminal group, "Committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group", and "Structured criminal group".
He was sentenced to 12 years in prison, but will only serve 8 years behind bars after benefiting from a shortened trial.
"In accordance with Article 406/1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the defendant Emiljan Sofo Burba is reduced by 1/3 (one third) of the sentence given, being finally sentenced to 8 (eight) years of imprisonment," the GJKKO decision states.
Defendant Emiljan Sofo Burba will serve his sentence in a high-security prison.

The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has submitted to the Court the request with the subject: "Sending to trial case no. 159, of 2024, with the defendant Emiljan Burba, accused of committing the criminal offense of "Drug Trafficking", in collaboration in the form of a structured criminal group, "Structured Criminal Group", provided for by articles 283/a/1, 28/4, 333/a/1 and 334/1 of the Criminal Code".
