A shocking incident occurred this Wednesday in the city of Saranda, where a 15-year-old girl jumped from the fourth floor of her apartment. Fortunately, she is in good health and is currently hospitalized at the Trauma Hospital in Tirana.
The teenager's father has spoken to the media, saying that the girl had deep feelings of distress due to the bullying she was experiencing. He said that the girl had expressed her concerns to him after a difficult day at school.
"She came home from school and told me that her friends had bullied her. A girl and a boy had told her 'you're a slanderer,'" her father said. He also said that on the day of the incident, the family was celebrating their son's birthday.
Passersby provided first aid to the girl, who was taken to the hospital in a coma. The father said he had noticed that the girl went without eating much of the day and had little company, only one close friend.
"We decided not to take the girl to school anymore because of the bullying. She is in Tirana and in good condition. Teachers and psychologists should intervene to stop the bullying," he concluded.
