A serious incident occurred yesterday evening in neighborhood no. 12 of the city of Durrës, where a 51-year-old man was found murdered in his apartment.
The victim has been identified as Valbon Beqiraj (also known as Marsel Beqiraj), who was found lifeless by his family, who immediately notified the police. The incident was recorded at around 19:30 on September 24.
According to official sources from the Durrës Police, from the preliminary examination of the victim's body and the forensic expertise conducted by the investigative group under the direction of the Prosecution, it results that Beqiraj had numerous wounds inflicted with a cutting instrument, suspected to be a knife, which caused his death.
Immediately after the event, a special investigative group was established, which launched intensive investigations to clarify the circumstances and identify the possible perpetrator or perpetrators.
Police have continued to collect evidence at the scene and are reviewing security cameras in the area, while people close to the victim have also been questioned.
Authorities have announced that, at the conclusion of the preliminary investigations, a detailed announcement will be made on the dynamics of the event and the progress of the investigations.
