The Fier Prosecutor's Office has brought to trial 7 people involved in the double murder of brothers Gramoz and Lavdimir Kurtaj in the village of Kurjan, Roskovec. The incident occurred on September 10, 2024, in front of the Kurtaj family's bar, where the victims were executed with automatic gunfire by Altin Kuka.
Investigations revealed that shortly before the crime, the perpetrator's son, Ervis Kukaj, was involved in a physical conflict with Gramoz Kurtaj's sons and had fired a pistol at them and the victim himself. In addition to Altin and Ervis Kukaj, other people accused of supporting the perpetrator, illegal possession of weapons and failure to report the crime will also be brought to justice.

The Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier has completed the investigations and is sending to trial citizens AK, Er.K. and Em.K. for the criminal offense of 'Murder in other qualifying circumstances' provided for by Article 79, letter 'dh' of the Criminal Code, as well as four other persons for supporting the perpetrator of the crime and failing to report the crime.
At the conclusion of the investigations into criminal proceedings no. 1375 of 2024, it was proven that the defendants AK, Er.K., Em.K., in collaboration with each other, committed the murder of citizens GK and LK.
Shortly before the incident, the defendant Er.K. had a physical conflict with the sons of the victim GK, and fired a pistol at them and the victim GK. After telephone communication, the two defendants Em.K. and Er.K. met and the latter told him the incident.
The firearm, a combat automatic model 56, with which the defendant AK shot the victims GK and LK, was left by the defendant Er.K. in the hut next to the poultry house with the intention of being taken by the defendant Em.K. The latter, after taking the firearm, a combat automatic, went to the place where the victims were, stopped immediately in front of their premises, took the weapon and loaded its magazine, prompting the defendant AK to fire a volley at them. The defendant AK shot at the victims GK and LK with the combat automatic firearm, which he took from the defendant Em.K.
Also, for the same incident, the Prosecution has taken the defendants and requested that the case be sent to court for the defendants: TZ, accused of committing the criminal offense "Supporting the perpetrator of the crime" provided for by Article 302/2 of the Criminal Code; YK. accused of committing the criminal offenses "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Illegal production and possession of hunting and sporting weapons", provided for by Articles 278, paragraphs 3 and 4, and 280, of the Criminal Code; RH accused of committing the criminal offense "Failure to report a crime" provided for by Article 300 of the Criminal Code; and EH accused of committing the criminal offense "Failure to report a crime" provided for by Article 300 of the Criminal Code.
