A serious criminal incident has shaken the city of Durrës on the evening of September 24, where a person attempted to kill a 55-year-old man by intentionally hitting him with a car and then leaving the scene. According to official data, at around 19:54, on “Vala e Detit” street, a “Mercedes-Benz” vehicle seriously hit citizen AK alias BK, 55 years old, resident of Durrës. After the collision, the driver of the vehicle quickly left, abandoning the victim at the scene.
The Traffic Police forces and the Serious Crimes structures of the Durrës Local Police Directorate have intervened immediately, launching investigations to fully clarify the incident. After intensive investigative actions, it was possible to identify the driver of the vehicle as AB, 40 years old, born and residing in Shijak.
From the data collected so far, it is suspected that the collision was not accidental, but an attempted premeditated murder, carried out by vehicle. For this reason, the 40-year-old has been declared wanted by the police and is facing charges for the criminal offense of "Premeditated Murder", which remains an attempt.
The Durrës Police have launched searches to locate and arrest the perpetrator, as well as to find and seize the vehicle used in the crime. Meanwhile, the injured 55-year-old was initially taken to the Durrës Regional Hospital and then transported to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, where he is under the care of doctors and is reported to be in serious condition.
