A tragic accident occurred yesterday in one of the galleries of Zone D in Bulqiza, where 38-year-old miner KD lost his life as a result of the collapse of a rock mass underground.
Bulqiza police have arrested two technical staff members: Brigadier GK, 47 years old, and technician BC, 62 years old. Meanwhile, the technical manager of the works, RP, 67 years old, has been criminally prosecuted at large.
Preliminary investigations show that those arrested and prosecuted had not taken the necessary technical safety measures at the workplace, which led to fatal consequences for the miner.
The incident is being investigated by authorities for the criminal offense of "Violation of occupational safety regulations", resulting in death.

They did not take measures to ensure safety conditions at work, in the mining entity where citizen KD lost his life yesterday, 2 technical staff members were arrested and the technical director of the entity was criminally prosecuted, while at large.
Following the investigative actions carried out with the aim of clarifying the circumstances and responsibility regarding yesterday's event, which occurred in a mining entity in area D, Bulqizë, where citizen KD, 38 years old, lost his life, it is suspected that, as a result of the collapse of a rock massif during work in the gallery, the services of the Bulqizë Police Commissariat arrested the following citizens in flagrante delicto:
GK, 47 years old, with the position of brigadier;
BC, 62 years old, with technical duties, both residents of Bulqiza.
Also, criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen RP, 67 years old, resident of Peshkopi, with the position of technical manager in the mining entity.
The investigations so far have shown that these citizens, through their actions or inactions, have not taken the appropriate measures to guarantee the technical safety conditions of work in the mining entity.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Dibër, for the criminal offense of "Violation of occupational safety regulations", resulting in death.
