The High Court today rejected the appeal filed by the former mayor of Kukes, Safet Gjici, leaving in force the decision of the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC).
Gjici had requested through recourse a declaration of innocence for the charges against him, but his request was not accepted by the Supreme Court's judicial body.
Safet Gjici faced justice after the publication of a compromising video that led to his resignation and the launch of investigations for several criminal offenses, including abuse of office and inappropriate behavior in the exercise of public functions.
