
Two Chinese citizens have been arrested by the Border Police in Rinas while attempting to smuggle 62 kilograms of cannabis into Albania, divided into two suitcases. The narcotics had been sent from Thailand, transited through the United Arab Emirates, and then headed to Albania.
Foreign authorities alerted the Albanian police about the two suspected citizens, who were arrested immediately in Rinas upon arrival. Investigations to uncover the network and the flow of narcotics continue.

The police operation codenamed "Quality" is being finalized, conducted by the Tirana Police Department, the Rinas Border Police, the Passenger Information Unit and the Customs Investigation Directorate.
A case of trafficking of cannabis with a high THC percentage from Thailand to Albania has been cracked.
61 kilograms of suspected narcotic substance Cannabis Sativa, divided into 120 packages, were seized.
Two Chinese citizens who were trafficking narcotics from Bangkok with the intention of selling them in Albania were arrested and handcuffed by the Border Police in Rinas.
Following successive operations conducted by the Tirana Police, with the objective of cracking down on cases of trafficking in the narcotic substance Cannabis Sativa with a high percentage of THC, for sale in Albania, another case of this criminal activity has been cracked.
Based on information provided by the Passenger Information Unit, the Rinas Border Police, in cooperation with the Narcotics Section at the Tirana Border Police Department and the Customs Investigation Directorate, organized and finalized the police operation "Quality".
As a result of the operation, the following Chinese citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:
-YG, 37 years old and Ch. J., 48 years old.
These citizens were caught red-handed at the entrance to Rinas with 2 suitcases containing approximately 61 kilograms of suspected narcotic Cannabis Sativa with a high THC percentage, which they are suspected of having trafficked from Bangkok, with the intention of selling in Albania. The quantity of cannabis was seized with the quality of material evidence.
In-depth investigations are ongoing to identify and bring to criminal responsibility other citizens who may have been implicated in this case.
The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.
