A strong storm swept through several areas of Albania this Saturday, bringing heavy rain, strong winds and numerous problems in several cities.
In Golem, Kavaja, a large tree has fallen on the road near a hotel due to strong winds, blocking traffic and requiring immediate intervention to clear it.
Meanwhile, in Tirana, two people were injured as a result of the storm: one was hit in the face by a hard object, while the other was damaged by broken glass.
The weather situation has also caused trees to fall on several important road axes in the capital, creating traffic jams, especially in the area of Durrës Street and near the former train station. Also, major problems have been reported in the Zall Bastar area due to fallen electrical wires on the road, which has further worsened traffic.
Forecasts for the coming hours indicate that the storm will continue with high intensity, with heavy rainfall and the risk of flooding in several districts of the western lowlands. Authorities are urging citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and exercise caution in high-risk areas.
