A dangerous incident was recorded today in the city of Tepelena, where the balcony of an apartment collapsed. Fortunately, there were no injuries, as the balcony's fall was stopped by a grapevine bed placed on the first floor, averting a potential tragedy.
The building where the incident occurred is part of a facade rehabilitation project, which aims to improve the aesthetics of old buildings. However, the incident has raised serious concerns about the structural safety of the building. According to residents, even the fourth-floor balcony is in a dangerous condition and could collapse at any moment.
Emergency crews are on scene, have cordoned off the area, and are assessing the condition of the building to prevent further risks to residents and passersby.
Local authorities are expected to issue an official response to clarify the causes of the collapse and to announce the measures that will be taken to guarantee safety in buildings involved in similar projects.
