Heavy rainfall overnight has caused flooding in several areas of the cities of Durrës and Lezha. In Durrës, the situation is particularly difficult at road intersections, where water has also invaded the sidewalks, affecting pedestrian and vehicle traffic. In some areas, water has also penetrated the entrances of buildings and businesses near the roads.
In Lezha, the most problematic situation has been recorded in the “Besëlidhja” neighborhood and near several schools, where the water level has reached several centimeters, making it difficult for citizens to move around. Authorities report that the accumulation of water is a consequence of intense rainfall and so far no major damage has been recorded. However, the situation has caused concerns for residents and parents of students.
