Before the Shkodra Court, where he appeared for a security measure, Gert Bushati admitted that he placed the amount of explosives in the electrical panel in Shkodra, where Hysni Ymeri died from the explosion on December 29.
Bushati admitted that the three other arrestees, Edison Hasaj, Gjergj Zefi and Ergys Ibrahimi, are the people who contacted him to plant the TNT.
"I had no idea that the explosive I placed would be used to kill someone. The person who ordered it told me that it would only be used to scare someone and not to kill. When I learned that citizen Hysni Ymeri had died, I was terrified. I had no knowledge of a murder just to scare someone. Citizens Gjergj Zefi, Edison Hasaj and Ergys Ibrahimi contacted me about this job and I accepted it. I placed the TNT on December 27, but without knowing that it was a murder," Bushati declared.
Referring to his testimony, Bushati placed it two days before it exploded, on December 27. On December 29, as Hysni Ymeri was entering the palace, the mine was remotely activated and he lost his life.
Gert Bushati was placed under the security measure of "prison arrest" and his trial was held separately from the other suspects, due to his confession given before the court.
The other three suspects, Ergys Ibrahimi, Gjergj Zefi and Edison Hasaj, who refused to give explanations in court, but through their lawyers have contested the charges, were also left in prison.
