A police officer ended up in handcuffs after being involved in a property damage accident and defying his colleagues by refusing to take a breathalyzer test.
The Police Supervision Agency (Durres - Kavaja Region) announced the arrest of police officer Inspector AB, assigned to the Special Force Service Corps "Eagle" at the Durres Police Department. He is suspected of the criminal offenses of "Irregular driving" and "Disobedience to the order of a public order police officer."
Investigations show that this morning at around 05:40, while driving an "Audi" vehicle on the "Egnatia" road, he lost control and as a result crashed into several parked vehicles, causing material damage.
In accordance with standard procedure, he was asked to take an alcohol test, but the employee refused. Under these conditions, a blood sample was taken at the Durrës Regional Hospital.
Regarding the cases, the materials have been submitted to the prosecution for further investigation.
