Oil workers and employees of the Bankers Petroleum company are going on a hunger strike and warning of a boycott of field work in the coming days.
On Wednesday morning, around 200 employees protested in front of the company's offices, demanding improved working conditions and a salary review.
The first ten oil workers have begun a hunger strike, with more workers expected to join them on Thursday. They say Bankers Petroleum has failed to heed their persistent demands for better working conditions. Meanwhile, they say wages have not increased in more than a decade.
