VNA has obtained the police testimony of Tetem Toraj, the person who physically clashed with MP Flamur Noka after the opposition protest in Tirana.
In his report, Toraj states that on the evening of February 20, 2026, at around 10:00 PM, after closing his “Tabaco” business on “Xhorxh W. Bush” Street, he got up on foot to leave for home. According to him, there were still people in the area, as the protest near the Parliament and the Democratic Party headquarters had just ended.
He says he met a fellow villager and after greeting them, several people – whom he recognized from television as MPs – approached him. According to the testimony, they were Flamur Noka, Xhelal Mziu, Belind Këlliçi and others.
"The deputies turned to the fellow villager, pushing him. I approached to separate them. At this moment, Flamur Noka was talking to him and pushing my fellow villager. I asked him what was wrong with that boy. Flamur turned to me with the words 'what are you, a policeman?' and put his hands on my body, searching me and asking me 'where is your weapon?'" Toraj states.
He claims that after they searched him and determined that he had no weapons, he explained that he had no connection to the police and that he was just a citizen who had just gotten off work.
"Xhelal Mziu punched me in the ribs," the testimony states, adding that others pushed him, cursed and insulted him. The incident was interrupted by the intervention of the police, who - according to him - separated the parties. Toraj states that he left for home worried, and then saw that the footage of the incident was being broadcast on television, which alarmed his family.
He then went to the police station to file a criminal report, requesting legal action and a forensic report for the pain in his ribs that, according to him, are a result of the beating.
"I am a citizen who just got off work and was psychologically and physically abused for no reason. I request legal action against them," he concludes in his testimony.
