Since the early hours of this morning, searches have been ongoing in the Osumi Canyons to find 42-year-old Ilir Kurti, who is suspected of having thrown himself into the river on the evening of February 19.
The search is underway along the entire length of the canyons. At noon today, the forces involved have found a pair of sneakers in the water that are suspected to have belonged to the 42-year-old on the night of the incident. The strong current of the river has significantly complicated the operation, while the teams continue to work on the ground.
It is suspected that the 42-year-old was thrown into the river at the place known as "Blezënka Bridge", near the canyons. The vehicle he was traveling in, personal belongings and a mobile phone were found in the area.
The search operation involved divers, the Army, members of the Rapid Intervention Unit, as well as residents and family members of the missing person. Despite intensive efforts, it has not been possible to find the body so far.
Investigations are continuing to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
