The indefinite suspension of vehicle traffic on the Librazhd-Korça national road segment, following the subsidence and displacement of land in the area known as "Arrat e Gurrës", has left hundreds of drivers and passengers stranded on both sides of the road.
Among those stranded are families with small children, the elderly, and drivers of vehicles, who have been waiting for hours for a solution, while the situation appears uncertain due to deep cracks in the road.
"We set off towards Korça in the morning and are stuck here without any clear information. They told us that the road is closed indefinitely. We don't know where to go," says a driver, who says he has been waiting for over three hours.
Another citizen, who was traveling with his family, emphasizes that the situation is especially difficult for children. "The children are tired, we don't even have enough water. We need an alternative solution as soon as possible," he said.
Residents of the area say that the problem in “Arrat e Gurrës” has been present for weeks and that the cracks in the road have gradually deepened. “This was warned. The ground has moved other times, but now the situation seems much more serious,” said a resident.
Meanwhile, drivers are requesting more official information and guidance on alternative routes, appealing for immediate intervention to stabilize the problematic segment.
The suspension of traffic on this important national axis has created long lines of vehicles, as well as uncertainty and tension among travelers, who are waiting for a concrete solution to continue their journey.
