Interior Minister Albana Koçiu reacted again on social media regarding the protest organized by the Democratic Party of Albania, describing it as "the same ugly show" and "old scenography with smoke and flames."
In her response, Koçiu said that the protest represents a "paid revolution," where, according to her, violence has replaced political debate. She emphasized that a just cause does not need masks or violent means, while adding that citizen support is gained through voting and not through illegal acts.
She accused the protest organizers of calling on citizens to engage in acts that harm order and security, despite the fact that, as she stated, Albanians have given their verdict through voting over the years.
Koçiu rejected the claim that the protest was civic, describing the burning of institutions as vandalism and the attacks on the State Police as criminal offenses. According to her, the protest is not against the government, but against the stability, security and international image of the country.
