A 63-year-old man died this evening at Durres Hospital, after being escorted to the police station's security facilities.
Police say that at around 18:20, citizen Mehdi Guzina, a resident of Shijak, lost his life. He was being escorted by the Police, after being sentenced to 18 days in prison and was expected to be transferred to serve his sentence at the Lushnja Correctional Institution.
He showed health concerns and was immediately transported to Durres Hospital for medical assistance, where despite the assistance provided by medical personnel, he died in the intensive care unit.
The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is continuing its actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
