At least 25 protesters have been escorted to the police station for throwing Molotov cocktails at the Prime Minister's Office and Parliament during the opposition's national protest.
The rally was accompanied by tensions as police fired tear gas and water cannons at protesters, after the latter threw Molotov cocktails and fireworks towards the Prime Minister's Office building and then the Parliament.
The QSUT reports that an intoxicated protester was taken to the hospital, but his condition is stable, and MP Luciano Boçi was taken with minor skin injuries and is receiving the necessary treatment. It is not yet known if any officers were injured.
The situation has now calmed down, while police have positioned themselves near the blue headquarters in an attempt to arrest the young people who threw Molotov cocktails and fireworks.
