A serious incident occurred on February 21, 2026 in neighborhood no. 3, Kavajë, where a 48-year-old man lost his life as a result of being struck with a cutting tool.
The Kavaja Police Services, the "Eagles" Special Forces and the Durrës DVP Operational Forces, after several hours of searches and checks, located, captured and arrested the suspected perpetrator.
This is about citizen LD, alias LP, 48 years old, resident of neighborhood no. 3, Kavajë, who is suspected of having stabbed citizen SV, alias SI, 48 years old, several times with a knife at around 14:22, during a conflict over weak motives. As a result of the injuries received, the 48-year-old died.
After the incident, the suspected perpetrator fled the scene, but after several hours of searching, he was arrested by police.
During the investigative actions, the investigative team seized as material evidence the cutting tool (knife) suspected of having been used to commit the murder.
The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continues its work to fully clarify the circumstances and legally document the case. The procedural materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action.
